i was gonna rename the blog, but some other dickhead already thought of that one. i had another idea, but i forgot it because i had settled on champagne. i don't even know if i like champagne. i guess it's ok. why do people like it? on a tangential note, i had some louis xiii (for free, after tennis) the other day. the scene reminded me of the time i saw my friends dad in a sweaty t-shirt a few minutes after a jog holding a glass of chardonnay and a marlboro light. but it was the bomb; tasted like root beer flavored syrup. a few days later i asked a bartender about it, and he said they recently sold a bottle to a customer for $5,000. the bartender told the guy that he could get it at a liquor store for like $2,000, and the dude was like "i don't care, i want it right now." so the bartender was like "ok, $5,000." and the dude bought it. i wanna say he paid cash, but i can't remember for sure. he subsequently came back and bought a bottle of scotch for $1,000. that's like champagne money and champagne taste, right?
i was also going to start adding some pictures, but i inadvertently smashed my camera. i guess i could get a new one, but i didn't really use the old one that much. what's up with the camera on the iphone? is it a replacement for a point and shoot? or is it weak? apple's coming out with this new tablet computer thing that's basically like a huge iphone. like it's the size of a laptop but it's an iphone and it doesn't fold open. it'd be cool if it was a phone too (it's not, but i like imagining). you'd have this huge, laptop sized phone.
i wouldn't go so far as to say my life has been boring, but i haven't been inspired lately. i think i need to get back into music. the last really great time i had was naked lunch at lee harvey's. (not to be confused with the austrian band of the same name). shit was siiiiiiiiick. of course, they suffer from cover band syndrome, meaning that they'll talented musicians without any soul or sense of style. seeing a 50 year old dude in croc-jorts and a need brace breezing through the steely dan catalog isn't that awesome, but if the songs are good enough if reminds you why you like the original material.
i also had an awesome time seeing austin "free metal" band tia carrera at emo's a few weeks back. i can't remember if i ever saw them when i was in austin, but i've always wanted to check them out. it ruled (for about 30 minutes).
i watched the puffy chair last night. i think the mumblecore guys are on to something, but so far mutual appreciation is the only one i've seen that has fully realized it. baghead fucking sucked.
